Ancient Wisdom for Modern Times

Black Teas

Many popular black teas come from India, China, Sri Lanka, and Africa. Black teas are considered fully oxidized which give them a bold, full bodied taste. Great morning teas to help support your fire element and get you going. Black teas are created in a special way. Once the tea leaves are plucked they are allowed to wither. After withering, the leaves are rolled into a particular shape then spread out and allowed to oxidize for several hours in a humid environment. This oxidation process is what creates the bold, brisk flavor as well as the bright reddish color in black teas. When you prepare black tea you should use boiling water that has cooled just enough to lose its boil and steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
